Prince Albert II of Monaco and Anna Degteva ( Executive Secretary of the Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat)

The EALLU cookbook was presented to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II de Monaco and the other panelists at the UArctic Congress 2018 Opening. One of the reasons His Serene Highness was featured at the Opening is that his Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco names the polar regions as one of its priority areas. The Foundation is dedicated to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale.

The Opening Panel entitled “Arctic Agenda 2030 – a Challenge?” included discussion about Indigenous knowledge and the well-being of Arctic Indigenous communities. EALLU illustrates the Arctic’s extraordinary food culture built on centuries of knowledge, and the Arctic Council Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat was happy to share this knowledge with the panelists.

In addition to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II de Monaco, the Opening Panel featured Gunn-Britt Retter, Head of the Arctic and Environmental Unit at the Permanent Participant organization The Saami Council. She made excellent contributions to the panel!
