A lávvu dialogue on the Norwegian Leadership in the Arctic Council took place on Monday 14 August as part of Arendal week – Norwegian democracy festival.
The Indigenous Youth cohort of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Course attended the lávvu dialogue. There has been a conversation around the fire with relevant actors about the plans for the Arctic Council going forward. The panelists, including Morten Høglund, Arctic Council SAO Chair, among other things talked about two cross-cutting priorities of the Norwegian Chairship - Arctic Youth and Arctic Indigenous Peoples.
During the session, video greetings from the Norwegian Polar Institute's Arctic Ocean Cruise Expedition was presented. The expedition currently takes place around Svalbard and among other Arctic youth, on board, there are Indigenous youth nominated by Indigenous Permanent Participants of the Arctic Council.
