On Wednesday August 13, 11:00, NIVA together with ICR is organizing a session during Arendaluka 2025 about wild and domestic reindeer.

About the session:

How is the reindeer landscape managed in Norway, and what can wild reindeer and reindeer herding stakeholders learn from each other? This session creates a meeting place for knowledge exchange between Hardangervidda and Finnmark, where experiences, challenges and solutions are discussed across management boundaries. Join an exciting conversation about how we can unite different perspectives and forms of knowledge for a more sustainable and fair management of the reindeer landscape!

Speakers:

Kathrine I. Johnsen - Seniorforsker, ICR/NIVA Ordstyrer

Issat Turi - Reineier fra Finnmark

Per Helge Sekse - Grunneier på Hardangervidda

Widar Skogan - Direktør, Avdeling reindrift, Landbruksdirektoratet
