The Head of the Sakha Republic, Aysen Nikolayev, met with the EALLU team of the Arctic Council SDWG project during the Arctic Food Fest in Moscow last week.
"I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of young, ambitious people at the festival- true patriots of the Arctic, who make a significant contribution to the preservation of their traditions and their way of life.
Some of them are the authors and participants of the EALLU project “Indigenous youth, food culture and changes in the Arctic”, there is also youth from Yakutia among them. I got acquainted with the project back in 2018, which intended to show the culture of the peoples of the Arctic through the diversity of traditional foods. I think this is a great project, because food traditions are part of the culture of indigenous peoples.
Looking at such young people, full of enthusiasm and love for their land, you believe that the Arctic has a great future!" - says Nikolaev in his post.
