Academic conference on the traditional knowledge of reindeer husbandry in a changing world within the Riedvan project will be held in Kautokeino, Norway 30 November – 1 December 2022. The Rievdan project conference is organized by Sámi University of Applied Sciences, International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry and Research Council of Norway. Organizers want to create a real dialogue with reindeer herders about future reindeer husbandry and reconcile different knowledge systems to maintain the sustainable Sámi reindeer husbandry.
Latest research results on reindeer husbandry will be shared and discussed. Reindeer herders are invited to contribute to the development of a master's degree program in reindeer husbandry.
